The slurry is tangentially injected inside a prismatic room that induce high centrifugal forces.

A water stream is injected in this room at about the same linear speed.

At each turn, the slurry has to overlay the injected water that brings:

  • the cyclic local acceleration (jigging), frequency ~5000c/min
  • the fluidisation of the slurry
  • the energy of the rotational flow.

The gravimetric concentration can only occur inside thick slurry where the mobility of each particle has to be improved.

This general mobility is improved by

  • the fluidisation of the injected water (in Knelson),
  • by shear stress between different layers (bagnold effect in Falcon)
  • by the cyclic high acceleration at every turn (jigging effect)

The Cyclone Jig principle is very different compared to any other machine on the market:

Ø      Great centrifugal acceleration (<2500g)

Ø      Static device (no mobile parts)

Ø      Very small device PS

Ø      Working in continuous operation

Ø      All the known tools of gravimetric separation are introduced

Ø      Possibility to have several exit of different cutting densities

Ø      Easy to adjust because the effect are immediate
